Suzy Lamplugh vanished 35 years ago, and her disappearance remains one of the most enduring mysteries in British criminal history with the last clue to her whereabouts a house appointment with a 'Mr Kipper'
Suzy Lamplugh was 25 when she was reported missing on Monday July 28, 1986.
She was last seen in Fulham, West London, at around 1pm on that day.
Suzy was working as an estate agent at Sturgis Estate Agents, on Fulham Road,
and left her office to meet a prospective client to view a flat, but she did not arrive back at her office.
Following Suzy disappearance, police tested the DNA of 800 unidentified bodies and skeletal remains that matched her description.
Suzy Lamplugh was officially declared dead in 1994; she was presumed to have been murdered. Renewed police investigations in 1998 and 2000 failed to trace her.
In November 2002, it was reported that convicted rapist and murderer John Cannan could have killed Lamplugh.
John Cannan was born 20 February 1954. He had been released from a prison hostel only days before she went missing, and it was claimed that his nickname in prison was "Kipper".
A former car salesman, he was convicted in July 1988 of murder and sexual offences. He targeted professional women.
Other possible suspects:
In 1982, Suzy Lamplugh had worked as a beautician on the ocean liner Queen Elizabeth 2. At the same time, Steve Wright, who was convicted in February 2008 of the murder of five prostitutes in Ipswich, was working as a steward on the QE2 at the same time? Possible!
As of 2021, the case remains unsolved.
Let’s look at the evidence.
