My self proclaimed themes of the 20s:
2020 Say what now?!
2021 Oh, for F*ck Sake!
2022 F*ck it, I quit
2023: TwentyTwentyThree, TwentyTwentyMe
This episode is mainly an introduction into what this channel will be about and simultaneously a way of getting to know its creator, Layla. As such, the first episode of the new year will center on events of January 1st alone. The following episodes of Let’s Review 2023 will each cover a week per episode, from Monday to Sunday.
Every day covered in the episode will start off with Global news items of the day that popped out. In addition, some National (Dutchie!) news items are shared to tune into the news a little closer to home and thus more likely to affect my day to day life. A way to gain some insight into a "Netherlands life"; the country I live in and also as a way to illustrate how similar our lives probably are, even though we could quite possibly reside on different sides of the globe.
To finish off the day, Personal events as well as social media consumed will be shared if it impacted how that particular day was for me.
The topics discussed here are the 2023 political priorities: inflation, healthcare, climate rights, as well as Russia-Ukraine war and New Year resolutions in combination with depression and what is all this drama about #quietquitting?
Also FYI: Finding Nemo is 20 years old today. That immediately ages you, doesn’t it?
Shout outs to people, celebs and other franchises referenced in the episode such as Finding Nemo + the social media accounts of CircleOfIdiots, DinosaurCouch and ShopStands.
Referenced celebs + VIPeepz are Misha Collins with his GothamKnights post, Charlie Capen with GISH and his Twitter besties-in-crime Michelle (ShopStands) and Berto of the Bay Area Independent Interpreters.
And also posts by Adam Grant + Robert B Reich with their daily nuggets of wisdom
