Is it worth it to challenge yourself and step outside of your comfort zone? What benefits do you get from trying hard things?
On this episode of Life Lifted Podcast, Mike and Chris discuss the topic of challenging yourself and doing hard things. We were inspired by a recent Andrew Huberman and David Goggins podcast where Goggins tells his story of his life. We each share what we took away from that episode and how we have taken on challenges. We even cover how challenges can expand a certain part of the brain.
We cover Spartan Races, Mancamps, and participating in sports as we dive into what challenges are available for adults to take part in. Do you think kids should get participation awards for sports? We even debate this topic.
Mike and Chris share their experience doing Spartan Races and what they learned from the events. We question why these kinds of experiences exist and whether they are beneficial for the average person. We also talk about how training for an event like this may be different from how you may typically train in the gym.
Have you thought about ways you want to improve and grow in both your life and fitness? If so, this episode has some great discussions that can benefit you. Even if you haven't thought much about growth, you can find some inspiration to explore outside of your comfort zone.
