Bob Ford is considered one of the preeminent club professionals in America and among the most highly regarded people in the game of golf.
He spent 37 years at Oakmont as Head Professional where he followed on from Lew Worsham who had won the 1947 US Open, so he found himself following a US Open Champion into the position of Head Professional at one of the finest Clubs in America aged just 26 / 27 years old.
Bob qualified for the 1983 US Open, played and made the cut finishing tied in 26th.
He was also Head Professional at Seminole Golf Club.
