Our featured guest today is Onyx King
King has an amazing Tragedy into Triumph story of how God healed her, delivered her, provided for her, and restored her. This is an amazing story of how God brought triumph to a beautiful, resilient woman.
Onyx King is the pen name for Antoinette Brice. Ms. King is the wife of Keith Brice, mother of adult children and two bonus adult children. She is also the proud grandmother of nine. Ms. King is a native of Kalamazoo, Michigan. However, she currently resides in Fort Worth, Texas. King is a faithful member of the Como First Missionary Baptist Church where she sings with the Praise Team. She attended Michigan State University where her long-standing love for reading, and writing was enhanced. Moreover, as a member of the Toast Masters Speech Club, she has competed in Area, Division, District, and region-level competitions.
King is an emerging author of more than a dozen published novels. Her award-winning books “Pandemic” and “Even Me” are available on Amazon.com. She recently won the 2021 Kingdom Image Author of the Year Award. The Kingdom Image Awards provides a positive and national platform for artists and allows the opportunity for network, collaboration, and support. This annual event brings artists together through a variety of creative and elegant events. Additionally, King was nominated for the 2021 Christian Literary Award in the Henri Award category. Per King, “the 10th Annual Christian Literary Awards were absolutely amazing. It was wonderful meeting Grammy & Tony Award Winner and legendary vocal artist, Jennifer Holiday!” Furthermore, she is currently a featured author in the Lotus Flower Book Club which is hosted globally on Facebook by Dr. Pamela Robinson.
As a young woman who grew up in the foster care system, she is a survivor of emotional, physical, spiritual, and sexual abuse, King shared that she escaped emotional pain and traumatic environments through reading, prayer, and help from culturally relevant mental health professionals. After spending an extended period of her life in Federal Prison, she was released and began to rebuild her life. King credits Revelation 12: 11, “We overcome by the blood of the Lamb and the word of testimony” as one of the foundational scriptures that motivated her to succeed against insurmountable odds.
