Detours come in many different shapes and sizes, but all of them share one thing in common: We didn’t see them coming. They catch us off-guard, leaving us frustrated, confused, curious, even heart-broken. We question why things had to happen this way, at this time. The ultimate temptation is to become discouraged, even angry at God, as we experience our faith being rocked.
The unexpected loss of a child. Health that has made a turn for the worst. The sudden dismantling of a friendship. Theunfortunate destruction of personal property after a violent storm. The crumbling of a particular set of plans that seemed so sure, so guaranteed.Detours in life occur when things don't turn out the way that we expected or when our journey takes a turn different from what we wanted or expected.
During those times it may feel like you are loosing. Yet, a loss can deepen you, however, it doesn’t have to define you. A loss is a part of your maturity but not your identity.
Thank you for joining me as we have an in-depth conversation about life's unexpected detours. We will explore the notion of how a loss can deepen you, yet not define you. You will learn how a loss can be part of your maturation process and not your identity.
