Our featured guest today is Pastor Nyslie Guerrier. She is the Family Life Director at Mt. Rubidoux SDA Church, Riverside, California.
BIOGRAPHY
Pastor Nyslie Guerrier was born IN CAP-HAITIAN, HAITI. There her grand-mother introduced her to the Seventh-Day Adventist faith while was in her pre-teen. Soon after she emigrated to Brooklyn, NY where she matured, was baptized and focused heavily in church ministry.
After HS, she attended Bernard Baruch College in NYC where she received her BBA in Human Resources & Business Administration, and minored in African American studies & Civil Rights Law and Litigation. While in College she pledged Sigma Alpha and it was with the sorority that she was introduced to community services. She served at the Eastside Armory with the homeless population for a number of years as a volunteer with her fellow Sorrors. This awakened her passion for community service.
After working in the corporate sector as an HR Director for a number of years, she then pursued higher education and Graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary with an MDIV and a Masters in Pastoral Care and Recovery. She trained as Chaplain at the St. Joseph Medical center in Burbank, CA. As an extern Small Group Pastor with Mt Rubidoux SDA church.
She then transitioned to work at the Los Angeles Mission As a Lead Chaplain with women in recovery from; homelessness, drug and alcohol addiction, sexual assault, trauma, human trafficking, domestic violence, partner violence, and spiritual abuse. She serves at the Mt Rubidoux SDA church on the pastoral team, an Elder, Family Life Director, and Women Ministry Coordinator. As Family Life Director she has created a vibrant ministry to support the church and community at large. Support groups such as; Recovery from Addiction, Grief and Loss, Recovery from Trauma, Single Parents, Faith over Fear, to name a few.
She is a Pastor, Chaplain, Teacher, Recruiter, Trainer, Life Coach, Motivational Speaker, Preacher, and Social Activist. Her ministry emphasizes pastoral care, discipleship, life management and restoration. Her focus is on restoring people in their relationship with God; people battling addiction, social economical and health injustices. Her passion is to create a non-profit organization to support aged out youth from the foster care system.

This non-profit will have several sections:
1. Focus on providing support for the community with a community center.
2. Transitional home for aged-out foster girls.
3. Ministry Consultant: helping Christian institutions set up relevant ministries in order to answer the needs of their communities.
4. Christian Association: providing leadership, empowerment, mentoring and support to women, helping them to live their best God purposed life.
