Judge Tabitha M. Marsh received an Associates degree from Kellogg Community College in Battle Creek, Michigan, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She then continued her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, Michigan, where she received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, graduated Cum Laude, and was the chosen Black Celebratory Commencement Student Speaker for her class.
She obtained a Juris Doctorate degree in 2004 from Michigan State University College of Law. While at the College of Law, she was on the dean’s list, received various law-related scholarships, and served on multiple boards and executive boards, including the Moot Court Board. She was also the Class of 2004 Commencement Student Speaker.
In November 2020, Judge Marsh was elected as a 67th District Court Judge, representing the City of Flint. She is the only female currently serving on the City of Flint District Court bench, and the only African American female serving on the Genesee County District Court bench. Judge Marsh is a licensed minister and a member of Embassy Covenant Church International where she is pastored by Bishop Hugh Smith and Lady Letha Smith. At Embassy Covenant Church Judge Marsh has served in various positions and is currently a member of the Church’s Presbytery Board, Prophetic Department, and Ministerial Team.

Family Background
Born in Flint, MI, where Tabitha spent the majority of her life Tabitha graduated High School in Battle Creek, MI where she was recognized as a class valedictorian Tabitha and her husband have a blended family with 6 children. Tabitha’s oldest son, whom she had as a teen mom, is a graduate of Morehouse College in Atlanta, GA. Her father, grandmother, and grandfather were members of UAW Local 659, 651, and 659 in Flint, MI, respectively and worked on the line. Her grandmother was a nurse and her mother was a CNA at Hurley Hospital in Flint, MI. Many family members served in the military, including her father. Some family members were teachers or administrators in the Flint public school system.
