Naturopathic doctors are educated and trained in accredited naturopathic medical colleges. They diagnose, prevent, and treat acute and chronic illness to restore and establish optimal health by supporting the person's inherent self-healing process. Rather than just suppressing symptoms, naturopathic doctors work to identify underlying causes of illness, and develop personalized treatment plans to address them. Their Therapeutic Order™, identifies the natural order in which all therapies should be applied to provide the greatest benefit with the least potential for damage.

Featured Guest Dr. Carrie T. Dennie
As long as she can remember, Carrie knew that she was meant to be a doctor. She has always been fascinated by the abilities of the human body and drawn to helping others. She graduated with honors from Kalamazoo Central High School before attending Michigan State University where she earned her Bachelors in Social Science. It was Carrie’s intention to attend conventional medical school but she felt unsure if it was the right choice. She wanted more to offer her patients and she eventually sought the Lord to determine her next steps. She was surprised to learn that her calling was in an “alternative” form of medicine called Naturopathic (pronounced like Nature + opathic) Medicine otherwise known as natural or holistic medicine.
Upon acceptance to medical school, Carrie moved to the Chicagoland area to attend National University of Health Sciences. While there, she tried acupuncture for the first time and fell in love with it. She eventually dual enrolled, first graduating with Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine in August 2016 and then summa cum laude with a Master of Science in Acupuncture, as the valedictorian of her class in December 2016.
Dr. Carrie currently lives in Grand Rapids, practicing full time as a Naturopathic Doctor and Acupuncturist. She believes strongly in identifying the root cause of illness while supporting the innate ability of the body to heal. The art of Naturopathic medicine is working individually with each person to support all aspects of health: including physical, mental/emotional and spiritual wellness.
I hope my journey inspires other women to be openminded and dream big. I was an older medical student and always remind people that it is never too late to discover and pursue your purpose. I encourage anyone who asks to seek God and let Him direct your path. Every day I wake up with joy in my heart because I am blessed to be a vessel for God’s healing. Jesus was the greatest healer of all time and I continue to be inspired by His example.
Dr. Carrie also offers telehealth only booking times. If you cannot find a time that works for you below, please call 616-899-9447 and ask about additional telehealth options.
