There are times in our lives that we must give as much commitment to healings as we do to surviving. Many people have experienced a tremendous amount of pain in their lives, and they just want it to stop. Moreover, there are times in our lives that we can become psychologically stuck. As a result, we are prevented from living a comfortable emotional life. Consequently, many years ago as our special guest was attempting to emotionally avoid a disheartening childhood memory. As a result, she used silence/secrecy, to protect herself from unpleasant thoughts and feelings. Incidentally, she found herself emotionally stuck for many, many years as the situation colored every aspect of her life. However, after years of agony, anguish, and stagnation; God graced her with the ability to embrace unfavorable situations and tenaciously navigate through them victoriously.
Ms. Doris Mariah Hope is a wise woman that provides us with information, insight, and windows of opportunity to view God at work in her life. Her life serves as an outstanding witness of what God can do when a person is intrinsically motivated to change and completely yielded to Him. Ms. Doris’ story has and will continue to impact many lives. I am thankful for the opportunity that our podcast audience will acquire as they learn from her mistakes, cry over her plight, delight in her triumphs; and are inspired by her discoveries of how God can shift the emotional needle from being “stuck on stupid” to resolution and stability.
Undoubtedly, as Ms. Doris realized what hindered her the most was her skill at being silent, she gave into the conviction of the Holy Spirit that would not allow her to rest emotionally with the secret. It was at that time and moment when she began to open her mouth and write about the unfortunate situation had taken place during her childhood. As a result of what she coins, “exposing the enemy,” her entire the world opened, she then realized that it was time to move forward with the process of healing. This newfound emotional freedom came whirling in like a horrendous tornado. Which was precipitated by a deep spiritual emotional liberty because of being freed from decades of mental bondage. Without question, Ms. Doris now uses her liberated voice to fight against social injustices.
