Description

Today our special guest is my first cousin Pastor Adeleane Dixon. Pastor Dixon is the ninth child of the late Reverend and Mrs. John T. Haymon of Penney Farms, Florida. She is the wife of Pastor Martin Dixon Sr., the mother of four children Victoria, Christina, Martin Junior, and Marlin. She is also the blessed grandmother of11(soon to be 12) BEAUTIFUL grandchildren whom she loves adores.

Adeleane is a licensed and ordained minister with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology (Saint Leo University) and a bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies (Truth Bible College and Seminary).

She is also the founder of the God's Princesses Girls Club mentoring program for girls 5-18, kindergarten teacher, psalmist, poet and the writer and director of several hit gospel stage plays, “The Time Is Now!” “Lord When will I Get my Rose?” and “The Blood Crying from the Ground” a black history play of sacrifice from slavery to freedom.

Pastor Adeleane is an enthusiastic educator in both the secular and faith-based arenas. As a former kindergarten teacher in an urban school setting for kids with learning disabilities, she has always been dedicated and involved in her field. Per Pastor Adeleane, “the kids whom we understand the least are the kids who need us the most.” Therefore, she and made a commitment to God to be an academic and spiritual advocate for her students with disabilities. Pastor Adeleane believes that before we can fully understand the feelings of another person, perhaps we must first see the world as he or she does. She passionately believes that every child deserves the chance to reach their God-given potential.

She currently resides in Hollywood, Florida and is the Associate Pastor of Faith Deliverance Cathedral in Miami, Florida where she works faithfully and diligently beside her husband to bring his vision to past of reaching one, individual at a time, to one family at a time for the upbuilding of the kingdom of God. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, fishing, writing, and volunteering.

You are cordially invited to join us for a breathtaking discussion on the topic of “Women in Ministry: The Balancing Act.” African American women continue to confess their call to ministry even when they know such a confession may cause them to face criticism and even ostracism from many of the same men and women who nurtured them in the faith. In this awe-Inspiring discussion, Pastor Adeleane and African American female clergy shares her powerful, inspirational, and sometimes heartbreaking story of her call and ministerial journey, which she experienced in the midst of anguish, uncertainty, and in many cases unfriendly leadership environments.

Consequently, the aim of this discussion is to show how successful African American women leaders combine work, church, and family life. In this discussion my cousin Pastor Adeleane and I explore the experiences that mold the life course of women and how they affect work-family life balance. The goal is to extract these strategies and provide them to other women interested in pursuing leadership roles in the church and in their careers all while balancing family life.
