Welcome to the Lotus Flower Podcast, I am your co-host Dr. Pamela Robinson.
Today our special guest is one of my lifelong friends and sister in the Lord Lesa Henry. Lesa currently serves her community as a mental health care manager and worship leader. She is a wife, mother of two sons, and two granddaughters.
In this episode, we will discuss the growing concern with youth of today not being familiar with the presence or teachings of the bible. Per Lesa, many of them are not coming to church with their parents but left home to play with friends, watch tv or play video games and if they are in church, they are on their electronic devices playing games. Furthermore, many are not being taught to reverence God or the importance of the presence of God through prayer, biblical application, or worship.
Children are growing up in a world where reverence for God and civility toward one another are rapidly diminishing. Incivility and irreverence can become normal and accepted by our children unless we teach them otherwise.
Moreover, youth attendance in the church has declined in the recent past. The reason for their decline is that many may no longer find church to be socially and spiritually relevant to their lives. This informative podcast suggests that a solution to the problem may be found in increasing the depth of youth programs so that they can remain socially relevant to the lives of the young people.
