For this episode of the mental threads podcast I will be conversing with one Harrison Horne originally from Atlanta now residing in Charlotte, Harrison is a school counselor overseeing the education of an elementary school here in Charlotte. We discuss matters and regards to the "flawed" education system and it's negative impact and influence on the minds of the younger generation and generations prior more specifically on black boys. We go into the various patterns within the school system that not only make it appear almost reflective of the prison system but it's connection in definition to the prison pipeline which pretty much has the goal pushed at setting kids up for failure in life to fill these prisons. Education is such a fundamental part of the human experience and it's very essential in regards to not only being competitive but also progressing more positively not only in life but as a society and we go into discussions in regards to finding solutions for all these issues with in the education system. We also going to discussion in regards to the African diaspora and the mainland Africans relations and just in general the images portrayed by the media as a whole and how that's also affecting the community. This is a very intricate episode I feel that a lot of people could sink their teeth into.
