Description

Ramico Blackmon is a former US Freestyle Wrestling National Champion, a 4x US National Team Member, former US Olympic Training Center Resident, pro MMA fighter and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Brown Belt.

Ramico was born into a farming family in Georgia. After moving from a small town in Georgia to a big city in Florida, Ramico was intrigued by an announcement over the school intercom during his freshman year. The intercom announcement said that those interested in wrestling should report to room 7. Ramico reported to the wrestling room expecting to see a ring, costumes and characters that resembled the WWF (a different kind of wrestling). Instead he found a true passion that would stick with him for years to come.

Ramico became a D1 ranked wrestler, then went to compete on the national team. Ramico spent nearly a decade at the Olympic Training Center as a resident. After wrestling, Ramico got into professional MMA and even fought in the World Series of Fighting.

Post career, Ramico now runs “Son Bride” ranch, a therapeutic horsemanship ranch. In addition, he is a loving father, husband and wrestling coach.

Topics in this podcast include: Ramico’s journey in wrestling, his mentors, his role as a mentor/coach, his belief in God’s influence over his life and his love for horses and his ranch.
