Most people think having courage means you donβt get scared, but as someone with three black belts, I can tell you that is not the case. Mark Twain said it most eloquently βCourage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear - not absence of fear.β
Having the courage to overcome your fears is one of the essential attributes of a successful entrepreneur. Bootstrapping a startup is the definition of uncertainty and not for the faint of heart. And as Steve Jobs famously said, "The only way to do great work is to love what you do."
It takes tremendous courage and hard work to start a company and our society should applaud anyone who does because small businesses are the backbone of our economy.
