Description

When Christine was 15 years old, she was raped at summer camp.  The rape was the catalyst for years of living with shame. Shame silenced her inner voice, impeded her ability to connect on a deeper level with her friends and family, eroded her self-worth, and held her back from truly living an authentic life. Rather than process the trauma, she tried in vain to numb it with food; which equated to a 100 pound weight gain. Like so many women who live with buried stories; their stories will present themselves in a powerful way...within their health, actions and reactions, marriage, parenting, and friendships. Shame thrives and grows in darkness and silence. When we give it light within authentic empathetic sharing, shame will wither and die. Christine's story is one of reclaiming her life, of shedding the shame, and learning to love herself and others whole-heartedly.
