Description

This edition of Mpowered comes to you from two ladies with one thing in common, their love and passion for history and historical archives and artefacts.

Joan Abela is nicknamed Joan of Archives Joan is a visiting senior Lecturer at the University of Malta but also founded a voluntary organization, the Notarial Archives Foundation in a bid to generate funds from the private sector to the save historic archives and to create much needed awareness about the importance of Maltese paper heritage. The organisation is supported by over 40 volunteers ranging from highly specialized professionals to housewives and students.

Caroline Tonna also has a rich career working within the Arts and Culture sector, including posts as producer, presenter, council member, and is now the Curator of Palazzo Falson - the oldest building in Mdina - also referred to as the Norman House, but joins Joan as the treasurer of the Notarial Archives Foundation.
