Dr Maria Pisani is a senior lecturer at the University of Malta within Youth and Community Studies and the Faculty for Social Wellbeing as well as cofounder and director of the Integra Foundation, an organisation set up in 2004 with the aim of facilitating the integration of minority groups in Malta, providing community service, outreach and English classes to refugees and asylum seekers on a voluntary basis as well as working with the International Organization for Migration.

Maria also shares her own story of growing up as a foreigner and how this shaped her ceaseless drive to see all humans being treated fairly and equally.
