Ray Garland was a Port Authority policeman for 25 years. After his retirement, he was looking for a family business to open with his wife Kristine that involved their children. Given his kids' interest in the culinary world and Kristine's connection to the founder of Frutta Bowls, the family decided to launch a Frutta Bowls franchise in Colts Neck, NJ. After opening about a year and a half ago, Frutta Bowls has become a popular meeting place in town. Frutta Bowls is a fast-growing nationwide superfoods cafe launched in New Jersey that offers healthy alternatives to fast food, icluding acai, pitaya, and even kale bowls.
