On March 31st, 1922, a family of six were brutally slain while in their farmhouse. The Gruber-Gabriel family were found April 1st, 1922 by their neighbor, Lorenz Schlittenbauer. Andreas Gruber, Cazilia Gruber, Viktoria Gabriel, Cazilia Gabriel, baby Josef, and maid Maria Baumgartner had their skulls crushed in by an unknown farm tool.
