Christians have a complicated relationship with the law: there is no denying its central importance to the Israelite and Jewish tradition which we have inherited, but the New Testament seems to want to set it aside entirely. But the law tells us a great deal about what matters to God and it helps to show the shape of faithfulness.

As Christians we believe that the best way to understand the nature of God is to look at Jesus. But that doesn't mean that Jesus is the only way to know God; we learn a lot about God's character and work through the many stories and writings of the Old Testament. This series looks at some of the key attributes that we discover about God long before God is revealed to us in Jesus Christ.
