PANS' Lisa Woodill catches up with Dr. Kyle Wilby, Associate Professor in the College of Pharmacy, who is leading the project PrEP-Rx - Pharmacist Prescribing of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus), the first of it's kind in Nova Scotia. He talks about why he started the project, how patients and pharmacists have been benefiting from the it and how you can start this service in your pharmacy!
Dr. Kyle Wilby has worked across the globe in public health and university settings, including positions in Ghana, Qatar, New Zealand, and now Halifax. He is a member of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community and has provided education and training to pharmacy team members and other health care professionals on health equity and 2SLGBTQIA+ health across the world. Kyle has received an unrestricted research grant from Shoppers Drug Mart but has no other declarations and conflict(s) of interest.
