Today we talk to Won Kim about feeding your Community.
He has turned his Bridgeport restaurant Kimski into Community Kitchen and Canteen which distributes hot meals to anyone who is in need. Teaming up with different chefs around the city Kim's menu offers six ever changing meals daily.
The Community Kitchen is a food service program that provides complementary box lunches to in need residents, families and workers in Chicago the Canteen has provided over 4,000 hot fresh meals a week to local senior housing complexes, food pantries, community centers, hospital workers and residents of Chicago.
Won is a modern day renaissance man. He is a stellar Chef, DJ ,
Street Artist, Community Activist etc. He has spent his time since the pandemic started on focusing on feeding his community. They have turned not only Kimski but he has multiple other venues around the City jumping on board to feed folx in solidarity. He also has been a part of other fundraising programs live streaming DJ sets to raise money for local tavern's staff. What can't this man do?
