Jason Hammel is the chef and owner of Lula Cafe in Logan Square and the co-founder of the non-profit Pilot Light Chefs. Originally from New Haven, CT. he now lives with his wife, musician and Lula co-founder Amalea Tshilds, and their two children in Logan Square.

We talk to Jason about his efforts to safe Independent restaurants during this time, things that need to change and what the future of hospitality looks like. We talk about how the we need to reimagine where we get our food, supporting local farmers and creating a local ecosystem that works off of one another.
