Damien (he/him) is a program manager, activist, and proud dad living in Shepparton, Victoria.
In this episode, Damien shares his inspiring journey from self-shame to self-love. Reflecting on his upbringing in a faith-based household and enduring years of internalised homophobia, he discusses the importance of building safe and inclusive spaces for LGBTQIA+ communities in regional areas. Damien recounts his role in establishing Goulburn Valley Pride, which celebrates its 20th anniversary next year, and his work advocating for queer communities through Thorne Harbour Country. He also opens up about his life with his partner Chris, their daughter Fletcher, and how fatherhood has deepened his passion for activism and community building.
