What looks more like a radiation victim than a wolfman? The “creatures” in the 2025 Wolf Man reboot.
This reimagining of the classic Universal Monster is a swing and a miss, according to the only people that matter — us. It’s more of a slow-burn body horror transformation movie than a creature feature. Unfortunately, the plot is sluggish, the characters are threadbare, and there are too many plot inconsistencies to make it an effective movie on any front.
As we discuss what worked and what didn’t, we find time to joke about our own inability to understand women (even when we’re not turning into beasts), and wonder why the creatures in this film look like Worf after a bad chemical peel. Plus, we try to parse the most confusing ant-vs-wasp cold open of all time.
Wolf Man is a 2025 horror film directed by Leigh Whannell; written by Whannell and Corbett Tuck. It stars Christopher Abbott, Julia Garner, and Sam Jaeger.
