Pharaoh was flabbergasted when Moses and Aaron advocated for the Hebrew slaves to have time off for rest and worship--time off cuts into the empire's bottom line! Drawing on parallels between the time of Israelite enslavement and more modern attacks on rest, today's sermon is a reminder that to enter spiritual rest we must first enter physical rest. Today's sermon builds towards January 13's Religious Liberty Sabbath and special offering thereof.
