In our first episode we discuss Lucy's journey of becoming a Midwife in the modern day Maternity System of Australia.
She unpacks some of her personal experiences as she battled to find her footing as a young Midwife in a very broken system, and then went on to struggle to be able to juggle the demands and unrealistic expectations of workplaces once she became a Mother herself. After years of battling up hill and experiencing burn out (trying to find an authentic way to practice) she had the wake up call that Midwifery was never going to look the way that she hoped in such a broken and backward system.
