On this week’s episode of Saint Podcast, we welcome the drummer of Falset, Chance Labrie; who discusses the behind the scene grind of an up-and-coming Canadian rock band.
Chance is best known as the drummer and founder of Falset and also drums for his father, James Labrie, best known as the lead singer of Dream Theater. He was introduced to the music world at a very young age with his father being a famous musician himself. At the age of only 12 years old, he seriously began his journey into what now has become his lifelong dream. He was able to see the behind-the-scenes of the industry and what it would really take to make his dream a reality when starting his own band. Chance speaks about the struggles of not following the traditional pathway and the mental battles of pursuing a career in such a competitive industry.
Throughout all hardships thrown his way, Chance continued to persevere and put on blinders despite many obstacles. As we know it’s not all glamorous, Chance wears many hats behind the scenes when dealing with business, managers, distribution, and all other creative measures. In under a year, Falset went from no album, manager, lawyer, corporation, and no team to over one million Spotify streams and obtained all the things they could've dreamed of. Chance and his band are an inspiration to us all. Tune in now!
