A 2.8 earthquake occurred in Oklahoma, while a swarm of earthquakes is stirring up again in Nevada, northwest of Las Vegas. The swarm, which has been active for the past couple of weeks, is not near Area 51. In contrast, Southern California, the Bay Area, and Northern California are experiencing relatively quiet earthquake activity.
Earthquake activity is increasing along the Illusian Trench and the Croam Chatka, areas capable of producing large earthquakes. Severe weather is expected in eastern Kansas and Oklahoma, with a significant tornado threat, damaging winds, and hail. The Kilawea volcano continues to inflate, though at a slower rate than previous episodes.
