Comet C26 A1 maps, a Cro’s sungrazer, is approaching the sun and is expected to reach perihelion on 4th April 2026. It is the furthest detected Cro’s sungrazer, indicating it could be a significant comet, potentially rivalling the brightness of comet Lovejoy in 2011. While there is a possibility of impact with the sun, the current data suggests it will pass very close but not collide.
