We’re back to continue the conversation we started in Episode 54 about the importance of effective communication. As the third pillar of our pillars of peak performance, we feel it may be the key to success in all areas of your life. Pillar one was Customer Experience. You can’t provide exceptional customer service if you don’t effectively communicate. Pillar two was time management and organization. It’s hard to be a good manager of your time and be organized if you don’t have good communication skills. The topic of communication is so broad we had to make it a 2 part conversation. In this episode, we are covering the 5 C’s of communication and why each is important. The 5 C’s are: be clear, be concise, be compelling and confident, be curious and be compassionate. Each of these are vital and we take the time to break them down, give examples and practical applications. In today’s world of move fast, immediate gratification and communication by emoji, it’s more important than ever to listen (an important facet of communication), ask questions and convey your thoughts effectively. Don’t forget the importance of non-verbal communication. Make sure your actions and body language match what your words are saying. We hope that by applying the 5 C’s you will find greater success in your communications.
