Prayer against greed Heavenly Father You are my provider my sustainer and the giver of every good thing I come to You asking for freedom from the grip of greed from the desire for more that blinds me to what I already have Lord guard my heart from the love of wealth and possessions Teach me to be content to live simply and to be grateful for Your daily blessings Remove any selfish ambition that draws me away from You Break the chains of envy and comparison that feed dissatisfaction in my soul Instead of storing up treasures on earth help me to store up treasures in heaven by loving others giving generously and seeking Your kingdom first Let my heart be rich in compassion not in material things Help me remember that all I have is Yours and that I am only a steward of Your gifts Create in me a clean heart O God and renew a right spirit within me for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil Some people eager for money have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs In Jesus' name I pray Amen
