Not many people influenced my childhood as much as Owen Colgan. After a serious recession in the country & many people immigrating, unemployment in Ireland at an all time high & people losing their homes, what else would you do but quit your job & start filming a series with your mates in Swinford.
Owen tells stories about how the Hardy Bucks originated as well as how much of the original series was unscripted. The rawness of the show is what made it a success & unknowingly was an outlet for people at the time, home and away from Ireland.
A YouTube series, RTE series & a film, the Hardy Bucks was an extremely successfully piece of entertainment & Owen was the heart of it. He has continued on his popularity in many different forms in the industry. We chat about a particular show of his that I attended & overall just have a chat about all sorts. It was an absolute pleasure to chat to someone I have watched for years growing up.
