Description

Welcome aboard the Story Ark! Captain Kenny Mears sets a course for the heartwarming tradition of telling bedtime stories to connect with our kids. In this episode, we're honored to feature a story straight from a mother's heart.

Join storyteller Celeste Teal Larkin as she shares a beautiful, original tale she created for her own baby. Celeste, a talented singer of opera and musical theater, was drawn to the intimate power of oral storytelling after performing at the Redstone Highland Games. Inspired by the tradition of ancient bards and the educational philosophy of Waldorf schools, she decided to hone her skills to share with her new daughter.

The story follows a little old man who lives in a cozy boot. One stormy night, his home gets a leak, and he must rely on his kindness to his neighbors—a widow and her three strong sons—to fix his roof This is a tale that highlights neighborly love, generosity, and the blessings of community.

This enchanting narrative is filled with whimsical details and a soothing rhythm, making it a perfect listen for both children and adults. It's a wonderful example of how stories can be a source of comfort, connection, and timeless lessons.
