Sweet Beaulah Land

Verse 1

I'm kind of homesick for a country

To which I've never been before

No sad goodbyes will there be spoken

For time won't matter anymore

Ref:

Beulah Land I'm longing for you

And some day on thee I'll stand

There my home shall be eternal

Beulah Land, sweet Beulah Land

Verse 2

I'm looking now, just across the river

To where my faith, shall end in sight

There's just a few more days to labor

Then I will take my heavenly flight

Verse 1

Akó ay medyo nasasabík sa bayan

Na hindi ko pa napupuntahán

Doo’y di mabábanggit ang mapangláw na paalam

Pagkat ang panaho’y di na mahalagá

Refrain:

O, Beulah, ako’y nanánabík sa iyó

At balang araw ako ay tatayô d’yan

Kung saan manínirahan magpakailanmán

O, Beulah, magandang Beulah

Verse 2

Ako’y nakatingín sa kabilâ ng ilog

Kung saan ang pananalig ko’y makikita

Konting panahón na lang na maghihirap

Tapos akoy maglálakbáy patungo dyan

Refrain

We live by faith and not by sight. When we reach Beulah land, our faith—the essence of things not seen—will be realized or seen. Right now we are looking at it (the antitypical heavenly Canaan) from across the river.

Thou shalt no more be termed Forsaken; neither shall thy land any more be termed Desolate: but thou shalt be called Hephzibah, and thy land Beulah: for the Lord delighteth in thee, and thy land shall be married. Isaiah 62:4.

If we are faithful and obedient, God will delight in us, and bless us as His own chosen peculiar people.—Testimonies for the Church 2:693.

The Lord has joined His people to Himself by a solemn covenant, He promising to be their God, and they pledging themselves to be His, and His alone. He declares, “I will betroth thee unto Me forever; yea, I will betroth thee unto Me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in loving-kindness, and in mercies.” And again, “I am married unto you.” And Paul employs the same figure in the New Testament when he says, “I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ.”—The Great Controversy, 381.

“You shall be my ‘Delight,’ your land shall be my ‘wedded wife,’ for the Eternal takes delight in you, and your land shall again be married. As a young man weds a maiden, so your Founder marries you, and as a bridegroom thrills to his bride, so shall your God thrill to you.” Isaiah 62:4-5, Moffatt. . RRe 40.1-RRe 40.4
