Hey friends, welcome back to Strong and Courageous! Can I be honest? Sometimes I get angry. Maybe someone cuts in line, maybe a friend says something mean, or maybe I just feel frustrated inside. Do you ever feel that way? We all do! But the Bible gives us a really good reminder about how to handle anger.
James 1:19 says, ‘Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.’
That means when something makes us upset, we don’t have to explode. Instead, we can take a deep breath, listen, and ask God to help us respond with kindness. Being angry isn’t always wrong—Jesus got angry when people were being treated unfairly. But what matters is what we do with our anger. Do we yell and hurt others? Or do we pause and choose self-control? With God’s help, we can be slow to anger and quick to love.
