TO EDGE OR NOT TO EDGE....
The Users Of The Character.Ai platform have been in the spotlight lately, but not for what you'd think...
Users have been(secretly?) actively engaging the bots in graphic, not-safe-for-work (NSFW) interactions. They're sharing certain strategies on subreddits like[r/CharacterAI_NSFW] for bypassing guardrails. Its definitely a process though. Gradually escalating romantic roleplay and using euphemisms to coax the initially safe-for-work bots into explicit sexual scenarios. And the bots are talking back.
Character.AI developers are most definitely(in my opinion only) testing out these capabilities with users or other devs to determine the process of romantic integration, and the public's level of comfort surrounding the issue, before making it an available add-on to your chatbot. The company maintains that its long-term goal is to build a service for billions of people - not a porn site...
