Our guest for this episode is Professor Emily Shuckburgh, director of Cambridge Zero, the University of Cambridge's major climate change initiative.
Emily is a mathematician and climate scientist. She worked for more than a decade at the British Antarctic Survey where she led a UK national research programme on the Southern Ocean and its role in climate.
She has also been an advisor on climate to the UK government.
Emily was awarded an OBE in 2016 and a CBE in 2025. She is co-author with HM King Charles III and Tony Juniper of the Ladybird Book on climate change.
In our podcast she tells presenter Hannah Walker why she really does keep a bottle of water from the bottom of the Antarctic Ocean on her desk.
This episode also features guest voiceovers from Team Salix members Reece and Sonia.
