Steven McCoy is an Ojibwe from Garden River First Nation who grew up in Bawating (Sault Ste. Marie) where he currently resides as a homeowner and provider to post-secondary students. Mr. McCoy is a well-educated, award-winning entrepreneur who founded Gencity Inc. and Indigenbiz. Steven is very active in his community as a philanthropist who overcame a lot of adversity in life such as abandonment, abuse, racism, poverty and a life-threatening accident to achieve success and find fulfillment. Steven is an accomplished public speaker and mentor who enjoys sharing his knowledge and life story, especially with young Indigenous students, in hopes of inspiring others to overcome adversities and pursue opportunities in entrepreneurship and business.
