Many people know Einstein as one of history’s greatest geniuses, but few know about Mileva, a physicist in her own right who studied and worked alongside him. Some of Einstein’s letters even speak of “our work,” raising questions about how much credit may have been taken from her.
We’ll look at their relationship—from their student days in Zurich, to the growing tension when Einstein moved to Berlin and became close with his cousin Elsa, to the harsh “conditions” he gave Mileva in 1914, and finally their divorce in 1919 where she received his Nobel Prize money.
