Description

Great to be joined by personal coach and nutritional therapist Rory Macdonald to chat about an industry I've been very interested in since getting into this mental health space through the podcast.

Rory spent many years working a very high powered job, moving from glamorous city to glamorous city and living the work hard play hard lifestyle that came with it. This led to a period of depression before he totally changed his life to his current role as a personal coach, to people that work in a similar position, in the hopes of helping them avoid the traps he fell into.

Perhaps I've been sceptical about the coaching industry, I think I've never truly understood it, so it was great to learn about what his actual day to day job entails, and to know it's coming from a place of personal experience as well as his wealth of knowledge about staying healthy and happy. We discussed the different ways anxiety manifests itself, (including me finally talking about the way it does for me), how it's a lot more common than I think and why chewing your food for longer is much more important than you think.

This is perhaps a tougher sell than other guests (pro athletes etc), but the value I took from this conversation cannot be overstated enough, I can't wait to do another episode with Rory and do more together in the future.

Rory has also kindly offered a free, no obligation call to any of my listeners (available for the next few weeks). I highly recommend it, as I always say, the more we all talk, the easier it becomes.
