A Loosen Your Grip Wednesday
I once heard an old southern man say a closed hand doesn’t receive and a closed mouth doesn’t get fed. I would like to add that a closed mind doesn’t expand, a hard heart doesn’t accept, and a scared person doesn’t step out in faith. Do you know GOD knows and hears your thoughts, conversations and knows your heart, HE listens to your ideas, you’re murmuring and things you say while in your poverty or lack. Only to sometimes test to see if you would do what you say you would do, with trusting you with a little. Often these tests come in small acts of expected kindness, giving, sharing and sacrifices. Placing someone in need of something and seeing if you would provide. Simply leaving a tip for a waitress or a maid that needs a few dollars to buy some medicine for his/her child and you fail to leave a $10 tip for the maid cleaning your hotel room as GOD has placed in your heart to do so. GOD may not be able to trust you, because your hands are closed. HE sometimes tests you at a checkout counter, when someone is short of money to pay for their groceries and you’re in line behind them and instead of you saying I’ll pay the difference for you, you remain silent and become a spectator in that person’s shame or humiliation. Standing there with more than you need and able to assist but you don’t, but what you do decide to do is text, tweet or IG about it instead! GOD may not be able to trust you, because your hands are closed, heart is closed, and you possess a mean spirit. I believe GOD in those moments where it’s just you and the situation or should I say opportunity to assist someone in need. Your actions then shows GOD your ability and HE judges and blesses you accordingly to what you have shown in those times…And I know many of you will come back with well GOD knows my heart, and my answer to them is yes HE does you showed it to HIM in that very moment, HE placed you there to be an ambassador for HIM, a blessing to someone else, you chose to be selfish, stingy and harmful as opposed to being helpful. . Because you weren’t willing to help someone who was in need… HE knows and sees the stinginess of your heart… You showed it- therefore HE knows it.
Scripture says GOD loves a cheerful giver, so when the opportunity presents itself and at GOD’s direction Invest freely and cheerfully as GOD leads you to do so. Open your hand and allow GOD to flow blessing through you. Not just for you but for others as well. Loosen grip allows you to be faithful over a little, positioning you to be set over much” Trust is gained…Faith is grown…Blessing begins to flow when you are good stewards over what GOD has given you and you are willing to assist others in times of need.
