Trigger warning: this episode mentions themes surrounding suicide, along with other mental health struggles. Please listen with care.
Hello you lovely people, welcome to another episode of - you guessed it - The Conn'Cast Podcast!
You will notice the new Conn'Cast logo in the backdrop - this was hand crafted and painted by no other than @room27ipd - thank you so much for this! Not to also mention the new microphones. :)
In this episode, we are joined by my life long and very good friend, Aaron Scanlan, or as some may also know him as @caringwithcolours - Aaron discusses his mental health in quite a lot of detail, firstly speaking of his early life and more specifically experiences with my brother Conn, and how much Connor meant to him and still does.
We then also discuss Aaron's diagnosis of PTSD as well as epilepsy in 2012, as well as dealing with loss through miscarriage as well as relationships later on in life. However, even through all of this, Aaron has managed to really flip this around and put a positive stance on things through his charity work with Caring With Colours, which I for one am SO proud of him for doing - please do listen in if you want to hear more on this, and hopefully you'll feel inspired by his story, as I certainly am after hearing it first hand!
To Aaron - thank you SO much for coming onto the show! It was so lovely to have a catchup, I know Conn would've loved the fact you came on, it really means a lot. I'm looking forward to maybe collaborating on more things down the line ;)
I hope everyone has a WONDERFUL week ahead 🫶
