Trigger warning: this episode mentions themes surrounding suicide and grief, which some viewers may find distressing. Please watch/listen with care.
Hi guys, welcome back to another episode of The Conn'Cast Podcast! Apologies this one is a bit late - but I promise you it is all worth the wait... π
In this episode, I am joined with Nick Millen, a life long friend and a very close friend of my brother Connor - who this podcast was set up in memory of!
For the best part of four hours, myself and Nick ended up discussing mental health in quite a lot of detail, from losing my brother Connor to suicide in 2019, and our own experiences with that - to Nickβs own experiences from losing his sister in January 2018, how this has affected himself and his family ever since, and how he is continuing to deal with the grief from this event.
I cannot thank you enough for coming onto the show Nick, it was so lovely to have a proper catchup. From a personal perspective, I found a bit of comfort in discussing suicide and losing a sibling from someone that understands how such a loss feels - as much as I wish we never had to in the first place. Our chat really helped me, and I hope it can help other people listening!
As we were chatting for quite a long time, this chat has been split into two parts - part 2 with Nick will release on Sunday at 7pm, so please stay tuned for that one!
Once again, a HUGE thank you to @room27ipd for shooting the footage, helping to record the audio and giving us a place to record! It is really appreciated.
I hope everyone has a great rest of the week, and see you all on Sunday. π
