Description

Pride has a way of quietly putting us at the center.

Good morning party people!

In today’s daily devotional, Jon reflects on a powerful observation about the word pride — right in the middle of it is the letter “I.”

That small letter represents a big spiritual struggle.

Pride doesn’t always look loud or obvious. Often it shows up quietly through the desire to be right, to receive recognition, or to protect our reputation. But when “I” moves into the center of our lives, God is pushed to the margins.

Through Scripture and reflection, this episode explores the difference between being pleased with what is good and elevating ourselves because of it. While God delights in His creation, pride never originated with Him. Instead, pride is what led to the fall of Lucifer and continues to cause brokenness in relationships, families, and communities today.

Humility, on the other hand, restores alignment by placing God back where He belongs — at the center.

Key Themes in This Episode

Scripture for Today

“God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” — James 4:6

Pride pushes God to the margins, but humility invites His grace back into the center of our lives.

Today’s Challenge

When you feel the urge today to prove yourself, defend yourself, or promote yourself — pause and ask:

“Who’s in the center right now?”

If the answer is me, step aside.

Humility isn’t weakness. It’s alignment with God’s rightful place.

Because pride always leads to a fall, but humility positions you to receive grace.

Remember:

You can either sit on the throne… or kneel at it. But you can’t do both.

Move out of the middle.

Let God take His rightful place.
