Description

Some conversations are rarely had because they are controversial. It would be easy to avoid discussing topics that may be emotive, but that's not what we do on The SHE Word, we believe it is important to talk about even the most challenging topics, even if we don't agree. Defining the identity of a woman is not a topic that we would have considered perhaps even 5 years ago, but in an age where definitions are ever developing and inclusion is an important agenda, Women and Identity is a topic that will increasingly touch each of our lives in some way or another. Following an edition of Sue Caruana's Friday feature 'Keeping it Reel' when Sue expressed her concern that some aspects of inclusion may be at the cost of women's rights, the response was polarised and phenomenal. It was clear that there needed to be an in depth discussion on the topic. Three women with varied viewpoints sit down together with host Trudy Kerr to discuss one of today's most emotive topics. Alexia DeBono is self-employed writer and digital marketer, but also the Co-President of the Volt Malta Party, Dr Maria Pisani is a senior lecturer at the University of Malta and cofounder and director of the Integra Foundation, and Sue Caruana who has been on The SHE Word twice before with Body Modification and Surviving Relationship Trauma as well as contributing a popular Friday afternoon reel to the channel. Conversations women rarely have, but really should.
