In this episode of Teaching Journeys Podcast , Dave speaks with Kayla J. Spivey about among other things, her most impactful creation From The Ashes , it was almost a 7 foot by 7 foot deconstructed quilt made out of 441 individual porcelain tiles were hand pressed with five different types of fabric, to create unique patterns. By using her deceased mother's ashes as a medium, she was able to integrate her grief by transforming the relationship with her.
