Episode 24- The Day from Hell
Samantha steps out and does her first Solo episode.
"In any given moment we have two options: to step forward into growth or to step back into safety."
This quote has been one I write down almost everyday. I don't know if I heard it somewhere or if I made it up myself at this point. But it is one that I live by. I wrote this down the morning before I started recording my episode and it was such an amazing reminder of where I started and where I am now.
I want to start this episode off with a “Trigger Warning!”
This episode I talk about the weeks, days and hours leading up to the day I found my partner who took his life. So please take caution when listening. I share some intimate details and share very raw emotions. So I ask that you listen with an open mind, a compassionate heart and please leave your judgments at the door.
With that being said, I’m not going to lie going back to these emotions is no walk in the park. But I know that if sharing my life and my story from my perspective can help just one person. It’s worth it.
Suicide is such a strong word and topic. It is not one size fits all.
*There is one suicide death in the US every 11.5 seconds.
*Suicide is the 3rd leading cause of death for 15 to 24 year olds.
*There is one suicide death for every estimated 25 suicide attempts.
*In 2020 45,979 Americans died by suicide
My goal in talking about my story is to bring awareness to Suicide and to help educate more people about the topic. If your life hasn’t been touched by suicide yet, chances are you will at one time.
