In last week's episode, Jen and Crystal discussed the two types of ground that represent two types of hearts. Neither of these produced good results. Today the discussion continues by looking at the two remaining types of ground. Jesus tells us that only one type of ground or heart produces winning results which is determined by our response to His Word.
Luke 8:4-15 (TLB)
1 Peter 5:7 (NLT) - "Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you."
Matthew 6:34 (NLT) - "So do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today."
Proverbs 12:25 (ESV) - "Anxiety in a man's heart weighs him down, but a good word makes him glad."
1 Timothy 6:10 (TLB) - "For the love of money is the first step toward all kinds of sin. Some people have even turned away from God because of their love for it, and as a result have pierced themselves with many sorrows."
Matthew 6:21 (GNT) - "For your heart will always be where your riches are."
1 John 2:15-17 (NLT) - "Do not love this world nor the things it offers you, for when you love the world, you do not have the love of the Father in you. For the world offers only a craving for physical pleasure, a craving for everything we see, and pride in our achievements and possessions. These are not from the Father, but are from this world. And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever."
Matthew 6:33 (ERV) - "What you should want most is God's kingdom and doing what he wants you to do. Then he will give you all these other things you need."
Proverbs 4:20-27 (NIV)
Psalm 51:10-13 (AMPC) - "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right, persevering, and steadfast spirit within me. Cast me not away from Your presence and take not Your Holy Spirit from me. Restore to me the joy of Your salvation and uphold me with a willing spirit. Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners shall be converted and return to You."
